How do you stop the coughing of bronchitis?

I have bronchitis. I went to the doctor and he gave me the anti-biotic, a steroid, and something else to help open the air ways. I am following all the directions, I quit smoking and I am taking the medication like it says to. I am getting rest, but I can't sleep at night because of constant coughing. Is there anything I can do to lessen the coughing so I can sleep at night. I have tried hot teas so far is there anything else I am missing?
